John Waters Guest of Honor at Offscreen Film Festival in Brussels

The Offscreen Film Festival in Brussels is the annual rendez-vous for enthusiasts of bizarre and cult cinema. From March 6 to 24, 2013 the spotlight of the 6th edition is on independent filmmakers, cult classics and eccentric genres from all over the world.

John Waters, Martha Colburn and José Ramon Larraz in person, camp & trash cinema, a tribute to the Japanse Nikkatsu film studio, plus a comic strip exhibition, a live soundtrack and Odorama screening: this year’s program is an attack on all senses.

Guest of honor for the sixth edition of the Offscreen Film Festival is none other than camp and trash film legend John Waters! One of the sections of the program will be devoted to a retrospective of all his films from Pink Flamingos (1972) to A Dirty Shame (2004). On Saturday March 9th at Bozar, John Waters will perform his one-man theatre show, “This Filthy World”, where he talks about his early days as a trash filmmaker in Baltimore and his exciting career in Hollywood, including all the juicy details. The show is followed by a special screening of the film Polyester in Odorama, so with the authentic ‘scratch and sniff’ cards!
